Please note that disabling a specific program from startup menu only stops your computer from automatically executing that program whenever you boot your computer. If you have disabled any program from startup any you need to use that program later, just find icon of that program and run it. By disabling a program, you are not deleting or un-installing it, you are just preventing it from automatically executing itself and consuming memory and processing power of your system.
By reducing the enabled number of programs in startup menu, you will be able to reduce the boot time significantly (i.e. your computer will turn on faster) and performance of system will improve considerably. There are a lot of reason why you need free space in the drive in which your operating system is installed. ‘C:’ refers to the directory in which operating systems are typically installed, if you have installed operating system in any other drive, replace ‘C’ by that drive letter.
‘Username’, please replace this by corresponding username specific to your computer. After you download a large file from internet, go to this directory and move that file to any other disk drive so that you can free up space in your operating system disk drive. 1. Type ‘Disk Cleanup’ in search bar.
2. Select drive in which you want to free up space. 3. After scanning that drive, you will see an interface which provides a list of how much space can be freed up and which files can be deleted. 4. Make sure that ‘temporary internet files’ bar is checked because that is where majority of the useless data lies.
5. Go through these files to make sure there is no file which you may need in future, if so, uncheck that file. 6. Do not click on ‘delete system files’. 7. Click ‘OK’ button in the bottom (Do not click on delete system files), after which you will see a prompt, ‘Are you sure you want to permanently delete these files’, click ‘Yes’. Windows updates are lifeline and support system of an operating system as they include security updates to resolve security vulnerabilities.
